Zoologists focus on the behavior, health, and life processes of animals. Some study live animals in controlled or natural surroundings, while others study the structure and function of animal cells, tissues, and organ systems. In the Zoology major, you’ll study biology, chemistry, and mathematics, and then immerse yourself in specialized areas, including animal behavior, aquatic biology, ecology, genetics and evolution, and cellular/molecular biology and physiology. You’ll be prepared to work in various areas of zoology, such as research or private industry, as well as graduate school/professional studies.
